Continuing with the lecture series of the Gemini/Anid project of the University of La Serena “Building Human Capital and Public Commitment to Strengthen the Development of Astronomy in Chile”, this Thursday, December 16, the lecture will be held: Light pollution and seabirds: global problem and local perspective.
The lecture will be given by Rodrigo Silva, a specialist from the Network of Bird and Wildlife Observers in Chile (ROC).
The Network of Bird and Wildlife Observers in Chile is a naturalist organization, whose objective is the protection of birds and nature in Chile, advancing in the knowledge of our nature and generating greater awareness in society about the importance of biodiversity.
The ROC carries out dissemination, conservation, and research activities, among which the monitoring of aquatic and shorebird populations, the development of the first nesting bird atlas of Chile, the administration of EBIRD in Chile, and the organization of observation outings stand out.
